Burd & Assoc. Achieves SBA WOSB Certification: A Milestone for Woman-Owned Construction in the Texas Panhandle

We’re excited to announce that Burd & Assoc. General Contractors is now officially certified as a Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) through the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

This WOSB certification is more than a title — it’s recognition of our commitment to growing diversity and opportunity in the commercial construction industry. What Is SBA WOSB Certification?

The SBA’s Women-Owned Small Business Program is a federal certification designed to increase access to government contracts for woman-owned companies. To qualify, businesses must be at least 51% woman-owned and controlled, meet small business size standards, and demonstrate active engagement in day-to-day operations and decision-making.

With this certification, Burd & Assoc. is now eligible to compete for set-aside contracts under the WOSB Federal Contracting Program — opening the door to more federal project opportunities, especially in sectors like construction, infrastructure, and facility upgrades.
